oh happy day

It has been an exciting week for my family. My brother Mark popped the question to his girlfriend, (and she said yes!) who is not only my future sister-in-law, but a friend of mine and my family’s for some time now. We kind of adore her. There were lots of crossed fingers as they started spending time together, cheering on the phone when he asked her out, and happy satisfaction when he called to say he’d bought a ring. Lucky for my sister and me, the proposal happened in Lincoln and we got to be involved in “prepping the scene” beforehand and the celebrating afterward.

Lots of twinkle lights, because they are my favorite and no one could stop me.

Dads making toasts…

All sorts of happiness. Isn’t she cute? Yes, the answer is yes.

I hope she knows what she is getting into. Because he is like this a lot of the time.

Congratulations, you two. I don’t have a lot of words for how my heart feels about this. Everything I think of is good and great and all, but just doesn’t quite contain the right emotions. Ambiguous sound effects actually do a better job. Or lots of exclamation marks. “!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” *sigh* Welcome to our crazy family, sweet Jenna.
