the roth family
Do you have friends that feel like you see them all the time even though it’s more like once every year or two? Say hello to the Roth family – my friends that feel like they live next door. I think I just wish they did!
Zach and Rachel have three fantastic children, and truth be told, this was my first time to meet their youngest, Amos. While he certainly needs some time to warm up to me, I’m already a huge fan of his. More on ‘why’ in a bit…
Naomi is the definition of “delightful”. She is observant, deliberate and obliging. She lights up around her brothers and is clearly and rightly obsessed with her mama. I learned that she doesn’t like to be hot, and even though that’s the first word to describe the August morning of our photo session, she was still her delightful self.
Elijah! I always want to know what this kid is thinking. He has an admirable way of keeping his thoughts to himself, but letting you know a piece of them through his facial expressions. I’m betting he will follow the “slow to speak” wisdom of the Proverbs throughout his life and it makes sense – you can already tell he is a wise soul. I also like his sense of humor, which of course mirrors that of his dad.
Ok, so here’s why I already love Amos. Ain’t nobody going to tell this kid to do something he doesn’t want to do. His determination is quiet…until it’s not. The whole family repeatedly referenced his “pterodactyl noise”. I asked his siblings each to make it for me, assuming Amos wouldn’t dare screech on command for me just because I asked. Boy, do I love it when I’m wrong. In the image on the right, he let out his signature screech right on cue and it was my favorite moment of the morning!
Whether he’s screeching or not, he’s pretty dang cute. I love this pic with his beautiful mom.
If you didn’t already love Amos like I do, you do now!
This session was so fun for me, it’s almost not fair to other sessions. 🙂 Love you, Roth family! Thanks for coming to see me and laughing your way through the heat and my silly antics.
