Alan & Erin’s two little boys are the sweetest pair of brothers around. The oldest, John, hardly needed an introduction to me before he decided we should be buddies and before I knew it we were in a footrace and I just fell for him in no time at all. His little brother Liam had the same captivating power with his adorable grin. The whole family is downright charming!
I think John might be trying to win awards with his smile! DONE. John, you can officially claim the title “Most Carefree Happy Little Dude”. Congratulations!

Liam loooooooves his mama, and smiles just poured from him whenever she was holding him. I loved the view I got of his two little teeth each time!
As a mother to three girls myself, I’m always inspired/intrigued/a teeny bit envious of the magic between little boys and their moms. Erin, you are amazing with both of them and quite obviously their favorite person on the planet.
These photos were all taken on Erin’s parents’ property where she grew up. The sweet sense of nostalgia is strong. These lucky boys have the most amazing place to visit grandparents and cousins.
Alan, you’re a good, good, good dad. These guys see mischief, fun, excitement and a balance of security and adventure when they see you. Trust me – I’m good at judging these things during the 60 minutes I spend with families. 😉 I’ve got lots of practice, and I just see those things in you with your boys.
Before wrapping up, I got to get in on the cake smash action for Liam who had just celebrated his very first birthday!
