elmer & johana
Oh my goodness. Buckle up for this blog post! It’s just about the best thing ever. Elmer and Johana have been together for five years, and when Johana reached out to schedule photos for them with her son Daniel, she had no idea how the night would unfold. Elmer let me know he had some very specific plans in store…
I promise we’ll finish that ellipses in a moment, but before we get there, we’ve got a few things to cover. First? Daniel’s smile is absolutely captivating. He is such a sweetheart, and so much fun! And Johana and Elmer have a kind of chemistry you’d expect to see in a movie. This photo of them on the right is my favorite. They love one another SO much.
Ozzy! So many pups in sessions lately, and I am loving it!
Just twenty minutes or so after we began, the weather went from hot & humid to…questionable. I was keeping a close eye on that dark cloud, but it made for a spectacular background.
Love this. So playful – so Daniel!
Ok, so circling back to the hint I dropped up top. As I was capturing the adorable mother-son moment on the right (they are absolute magic, these two), Elmer was getting down on one knee behind Johana.
…and then that raincloud let out a misty, sprinkle of raindrops that made this moment one of the sweetest of their lives, as Elmer asked Johana to be his wife.
I will never get over how beautiful this moment was.

I’m so excited for this family. They fit one another – all three of them – perfectly, and have a wonderful future ahead.
Soon their loved ones joined in their celebrating, and much hugging and happy crying followed.
