my youngest bro

Here’s a fun little story for ya: Last Wednesday I was at work and was planning to leave a little early to hit the road and head to my hometown for Thanksgiving. About 30 minutes before I left I thought, “I will write a post on my poor little unloved and neglected blog before I go!” Alas, it took me so long and I was so impatient to get out of the office that I wrote it but totally didn’t get the images uploaded. Fast forward to now, the Monday after Thanksgiving. I am at work. I remember the unfinished, unposted post. I think, “I don’t really want to rewrite that to make it past tense. I would rather just post it.”
So here is my post from 5 days ago:
I’m heading home to spend a long weekend with my family for Thanksgiving, and I am excited. Of course right now I am actually more exhausted than excited, but it’s there underneath the yawns and longing for coffee. Does anyone else feel like someone has crafted a devious plan to make sure you are sick right around every event you would otherwise be looking forward to? Birthdays, holidays, concerts, friends coming to town. It’s hard to believe it’s just a coincidence that all those things too often are accompanied by a scratchy throat and lack of energy. Maybe if I sleep the entire drive home. Yes, yes I’m sure that would help.
The best part of being home will be hanging out with my parents and my brothers, who I so rarely see anymore. We will eat incredible food, we will stay up late playing ridiculous games, the men will go out and hunt (I will not), and we will eat some more incredible food. Yummy.

Last time I was home, my youngest bro let me photo shoot him up.

He plays tennis.

We had fun with this too. It was getting dark and we had just tried to squeeze some photo time in before dinner. As we were driving home I saw this garage in front of a mechanic shop so I got to play around a little with spot lighting (i.e. the headlights of my car).

What a good sport. Hopefully I can snag some of the rest of the fabulous people in my fam before the weekend is over!

[End 5 day old post]

So there. I posted something that has little to no meaning anymore. I hope you enjoyed it. And guess what? I didn’t really take any cool pictures of my family over the weekend. I was far too busy being lazy. But I did take some AWESOME pictures of food. And of little kids who are not in my family but were at my Thanksgiving. Don’t worry, it’s not creepy. It’s cute. Plus I got an early Christmas present that I can’t wait to start using on the blog! Stay tuned…
